BRCC, PLC Policy for Sedatives and Stimulants
We strive to provide good care to our patients. This includes trying to let you know what to expect as a new patient.
Overall, our patient practice is conservative in prescribing sedatives and stimulants, especially for new patients.
Xanax (alprazalam) Ritalin (methylphenidate)
Ativan (lorazepam) Adderall (amphetamine)
Klonopin (clonazepam) Concerta (methylphenidate)
Unfortunately, we have found that people who come to the practice seeking these medications are often disappointed if we don't prescribe them.
We are committed to try and understand your challenges and seek effective treatment when needed for anxiety. There are many treatment options that we can discuss.
For those patients with ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), there are non stimulant options for care. We also can refer for psychological testing to further clarify the diagnosis and will consider any treatment if a diagnosis of ADHD is clearly established.
We will work with you one on one to find effective treatment. We welcome you as a new client. This notice is only to help potential clients understand what to expect when they come into our care. We look forward to working with you.
